I strongly propose that for the next Olympics bridge matches (if WBF managed to slip it through for the 2022 summer games), the athletes are to be wearing JAKQ’s helmet.
Because it will be very very funny.
Ladies and gentlemen, I think I have left JAKQ behind for too long. My apologies Big One and friends, I thought I have posted something about you guys, but my memory deceived me.
We’ve progressed pretty far on the Super Sentai post category, discussing record releases related to Goranger, Battle Fever J, Denjiman, SunVulcan, Goggle V, Dynaman, Bioman, and Changeman; but alas we’re forgetting JAKQ. The second of its’ name, the one with the weird white coloured stranger which looked like a baloon than a man.
I loved this as a kid, and I still love this show even nowadays.
As a kid I thought it was so heroic my blood boiled uncontrollably, and as an adult I love it because it is so funny. Haha.
This vinyl record is a Denon stereo release back in 1977. I suspect that there is the Nippon Columbia version of the same thing but labelled differently. The reason, I don’t know, but I’ve seen it floating around eBay.
It has a super handsome gatefold jacket format, filled in with stills from the show. It also carries a lyrics sheet for all the tracks.
Ten superb vocal tracks by none-other than Sasaki Isao. Legendary. Mythic.
My wife thought I should share the jacket content and not be stingy with important posts like this one.
As an apology to the Super Sentai category for the forgotten post, here’s the jacket content of JAKQ’s OST record album.
Will you be asleep before side-1 ends? Not at all. Let’s sing along. Bring your neighbours as well.
And here’s a sample of side-2 track 3 “Let’s go! Sky Ace”.
