Mazinger Z, what can I say..
It’s old, and it has a flying rocket punch.
… and it has breast fire.
and it has rust hurricane.
Basically, when face to face, you’re dead.
When I was reviewing Mazinger Z’s BGM, it felt like reviewing
old senior people. You couldn’t help but to show a bit total respect of it.
Mazinger is like the 90 years old guy still riding the bus alone during peak hour. Slowly getting on the bus, and slowly getting off.
He is never late, nor is he early, like
Gandalf a true old man senior.
Anyways, with all due respect, this is a BGM album released by Nippon Columbia in 1983, way way after the original series was released.
No disrespect, the album delivered what it needed to. I won’t disrespect Mizuki Ichiro who sang the opening and ending songs, and a couple of inserts, and totally respecting the iconic 70’s tunes.
Sometimes though, I wondered, did I just listen to Mazinger Z’s BGM or Django’s theme done by Ennio Morricone.
But we have to respect it nevertheless.
Remember, Mazinger has Rust Hurricane.
Will you be asleep before side-1 ends? HOW DARE YOU ASK SUCH THING YOUNG MAN! GO BACK TO SCHOOL! ROKETTOPANCHIII!!!!!
In the end, if you’re wondering whether it’s only about rocket punch or killing Dr. Hell, you’re wrong. Here, listen some sample from side-2.
